RAPT TOUCH SENSING SYSTEM
Touch sensing, particularly with multi-touch capability, is ideal for software-driven devices. Touch may also be used in combination with physical controls for applications related to gaming, audio and video manipulation, remote A/V control, industrial processing, medical devices (the controls can be sterilized without damage), amongst others.

Rapt has developed mechanisms to provide more effective ways of controlling devices from the handheld to the wall-sized.

Rapt has filed a number of patents relating to touch detection, where a number of simultaneous touch points can be pinpointed using a low-cost approach which permits the touch sensitive area to be completely transparent.

Physical controls such as buttons and control knobs can also avail of this sensing method and can be placed on a display to give an intuitive but powerful way of controlling any electronic device.

The Rapt touch sensing system costs a comparable amount to a resistive overlay but does not affect the image quality, is very robust and adds multi-touch sensing.   >Full Details

With a long history of developing digital signal processes, Rapt has devised audio processing hardware and associated audio algorithms for large-scale broadcast mixing desks used for the most prestigious television programmes on air today.

This experience has also been brought to bear on other audio processing realms, such as consumer audio and audio test equipment. For example, Rapt has developed innovative audio spatialisation algorithms, which create an immersive soundfield from traditional stereo or even mono source material.
